How To Take Care Of Your Hair

Hi everyone, I know that this is a rather particular period that the world is going through, we have had to change our habits and our lifestyle.

But not for this  we must stop taking care of us. Today I wanted to talk to you about how important it is to take care of your hair even at home. Especially now that it is not possible to go to the hairdresser and pamper our hair, with small gestures you can have healthy and shiny hair. We know there are many hair care products on the market, but we can  also obtain excellent results with nutrition.

We are what we eat

We all know that a healthy lifestyle and exercise help our body and mind to live in balance.

A healthy diet not only gives us a beautiful silhouette that helps us feel more secure, but also allows us to have beautiful skin and beautiful hair. Try to consume vitamin D and b5 based foods which are essential for beautiful hair. Vitamin D is in fact fundamental for the absorption of calcium magnesium and phosphorus, fundamental for bones but a lack of vitamin D leads to hair loss.

Vitamin D is present in foods such as: milk, butter, egg yolk, fruit and vegetables. But 10/15 minutes a day of sun exposure give us a nice dose of vitamin D but also a nice complexion. Vitamin B5 instead increases the melanin cycle responsible for hair color. A right intake of vitamin B5 leads to shiny hair. Vitamin B5 can be found in foods such as: eggs, fruit, green leafy vegetables, whole grains and beer yeast. Obviously, as already mentioned, there are also many products on the market that can help us.

EVERY HAIR The right hydration

To take care of the hair and understand which products to use we need to know the type of hair we have. On the market we find many shampoos and masks for dry, oily hair, anti-dandruff products etc. For example if we have a dry, brittle hair difficult to manage, treated with streaks, balayge etc.

We should take even more care of it, using coconut oil-based masks for this type of hair, or directly apply coconut oil rich in saturated fatty acids and hyaluronic acid that help repair damaged hair by regaining hair shine. We can apply pure coconut oil on the lengths and leave it on for 30 minutes.

If instead we find ourselves with a hair flattened on the head, greasy and with dandruff you most likely have a greasy hair. This type of hair should not be washed every day, because we will do nothing but make it become even fatter. The greasy hair is in fact produced by a dysfunction of the sebaceous gland, and for this reason the shampoo should be avoided every day because we will only stimulate this gland to produce even more sebum.

A good helper for this hair is to use silica-free shampoo, based on nettle which is a source of vitamin A and some B vitamins including B5. Combats dandruff strengthens and cleanses the scalp. Or rosemary which has antiseptic and stimulating properties. Or lemon that helps to purify the skin and re balance the pH.

Biokap shampoo for oily hair is a shampoo based on white fir and rosemary, which performs a purifying action with a silky effect capable of normalizing the excessive formation of sebum on the scalp.

RestivOil Sebum Normalizing is an extra delicate shampoo oil, ideal for normal to oily hair and for frequent washing.

Physiological RestivOil can be used daily and allows an effective and at the same time gentle cleansing, thanks to the absence of aggressive foaming agents that normalizes the structure of the scalp, balancing the production of sebum.

  1. I enjoyed your post about hair care during this time of COVID-19 lockdown.  I am especially glad to see you suggest that people get out in the sunshine to get Vitamin D.  While I understand why we are cautioned about over-exposure to sunlight, I think too many people have translated that to mean “no” exposure to sunlight.  As you say, it is important to get 10-15 minutes of sunlight for our health.  Good point, and I’m glad you made it.

  2. Personally I have enjoyed your post and I have also found it so very useful to me. I have been going through a many challenges with taking care of my hair. Like it gets breaking and even pullls off. Thanks for putting bout the measures here to follow to take care or bring back the life of my hair am surely going to follow these processes.

    1. Hi, thanks for the comment. Following a healthy diet will have many benefits including having healthy hair. However, if you have specific problems, you should always seek the advice of a competent doctor.
